Eliminate the pay inequity between new AUSAs and DOJ trial attorneys
NAAUSA is calling for DOJ reforms that eliminate the significantly lower salaries paid to entry-level and mid-level AUSAs, compared to their trial attorney counterparts at Main Justice. The pay gap between AUSAs and their Main Justice counterparts is as large as $40,000!

- A May 11, 2016 letter to the Chair of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee and to all US Attorneys noted that NAAUSA’s discussions over the past several years with the AGAC, EOUSA and JMD helped to highlight the systemic problems of the Administratively Determined (AD) pay schedule and the pressing need for reform. Those discussions, matched by the AGAC’s willingness to confront the issue, helped to bring about the recently-announced changes in the AD pay schedule and EOUSA pay policies that will raise the salaries of many AUSAs, particularly younger and more junior AUSAs.
